John Cow dot COM: And This Month’s Stupid Cow Award Goes To…

  • fatgadget · 2 years ago
bah not fair, I have missed out on the stupid cow award once again, exactly what do i have to do to get you cows to realise I am stupid enough to win it
  • Neil is a Tard · 2 years ago
I think that Neil should really re-evaluate his comment on Mr. Cow about how he doesn't really understand technology LOL

He said "I don't think you understand the technology well enough to write this article".

Hey buddy, you don't understand technology well enough to know what an automated email looks like let alone argue how PageRank works to someone who is merely asking a question. Feeling stupid yet? Perhaps if you pulled your head out of your ass long enough to actually READ the post(s) and email(s), you'd actually comprehend some stuff before preaching your ignorant ass

    gotta be special :),

I'm a proud winner of the stupid cow award!
  • Googlelady · 2 years ago
Try to be more stupid than this person
  • Steven · 2 years ago
This is hilarious, he tries to make Mr. Cow look dumb but in the end, he made himself look stupid.

    Good shit.
  • GnomeyNewt · 2 years ago
Some people might think it is bad taste to give out this award. But that is why I love this blog. You call it as it is and it is funny!!! I hope he comes and claims his award :c).
  • Steven · 2 years ago
Dang I just noticed that theres the SEO ads all over.
  • Gary Lee · 2 years ago
i love these kind of posts . . maybe i should start one since I still get some retarded comments from some very retarded people asking me to put them in some of my trains
  • Israel · 2 years ago
    neil, you dumdbass!
  • MLS · 2 years ago
I wonder if he's going to have to guts to make a comment :)
  • 2xKnight · 2 years ago

    Ummpphhh...
I'm planning to sponsor the Stupid Cow Awards on this blog....
  • Jayne · 2 years ago
Someday I hope to get good email like that too. The only obnoxious one I ever got was one correcting my grammar or spelling or some nonsense.

    Well I can dream...
  • WarriorBlog · 2 years ago
    Geez John,

Aren't you being a little harsh? You're embarrassing him in front of hundreds of bloggers...

I feel a little sad for the guy, hope he feel better

Felt like you just wrote this post for a little revenge... :???:
  • 2xKnight · 2 years ago
Well, the Stupid Cow Award has been around for a while. Anyone doing something stupid here is taking the chance that they'll be the next winner.

I only feel bad for the guy because previous winners got to pick their graphic. *L*
  • John Cow · 2 years ago
Not really, we didn't call him pathetic. Even gave him an award.
  • Colin Klinkert · 2 years ago
Nice post, i had a good read, thanks
  • Ray · 2 years ago
I wish I can get the award too. It can save me $200 for the review.
  • Neil Turner · 2 years ago
This is pretty funny (and no I don't feel dumb at all - to answer some of your readers above). I stick by what I said - stupid post. Also John - you didn't actually publish my comment until after I complained. So stop changing the facts to make you look good. Like I said - pathetic.
  • John Cow · 2 years ago
You're really thick aren't you? You complained to an automated message that told you there was a reply to your published comment.

Thanks for confirming yet again that you really are the right title holder for this month.
  • Neil Turner · 2 years ago
Ah John, twisting facts. Bless your little cotton socks. Anyway though - I've rated the article 5 stars as from the point of a reader it is pretty funny. Nothing better than handbags at dawn.
  • Neil Turner · 2 years ago
oh - and in response to MLS. Why wouldn't I have the guts to make a comment? No offense mate - but a revenge fuelled blog post which completely twists the facts ain't no reason to hide away. Water off a ducks back. Like I said above - pretty funny post really. Brightened up my day thats for sure.
  • Neil Turner · 2 years ago
Thought I'd reply to myself as that would really confirm I deserved this award.
  • John Cow · 2 years ago
    What facts were twisted Neil?
  • Neil Turner · 2 years ago
See above. Do you even read these comments? :?:
  • John Cow · 2 years ago
Ok Harry Potter, we give up. If you say you have a magic way of replying to replies to non-published posts, we believe you. Can you also tell us what tomorrow's winning lotto numbers will be?
  • Neil Turner · 2 years ago
    mmmm. Actually I didn't reply - I emailed you?
  • John Cow · 2 years ago
Yes, we've all seen screen shot number 3 Neil. The "Re:" stands for "Reply".
  • Neil Turner · 2 years ago
Yep. Shame when I received the email and refreshed the site neither my, nor your comments were there. I complain then wow - suddenly they appear.
  • Neil Turner · 2 years ago
But really - like I said. I'll have to nip this in the bud as I can't spend all my days on JohnCow.com. I accept the award. Many thanks.
  • Neil Turner · 2 years ago
Seriously though John - I'm really gonna have to get some work done. Although I enjoy this banter, all good things must come to an end. I'm man enough to admit that my initial post was probably harsh.....you win (although I get the numerous free links and traffic).
  • Neil Turner · 2 years ago
And even more seriously - all joking aside. I've read a few more of your posts and I actually quite like the site. You've got a quick sense of humour (and maybe a bit of a temper) which is cool. Good look with the site.
  • Steven · 2 years ago
Neil, another reason why you might think that the comment didn't show up is because all first time commentator's comments must wait for moderation and approval before it shows up (that doesnt mean it doesn't post, just not visible to the public yet) and I'm sure that Mr. Cow isn't sitting there every second of the day to moderate and approve every single comment as it comes in immediately. That is just speculation on why it was delayed.

After the initial post however, all post goes live right after posting as no further moderation is required. This is simply to avoid spam.
  • 2xKnight · 2 years ago
Yeah, I did a double post the first time too. *L*
  • Dee · 2 years ago
Wow.. I think it's going to be REALLY HARD to top that level of cow stupidity!
  • Joyce Babu · 2 years ago
@Neil - I really liked your replies (ofcourse, except the first one). You should have read the post well before you made your first comment. It was clearly pointed out in the post that Mr. Cow was proposing an idea which he was not sure. He wasn't speaking technically, he was just making a suggestion. After all when the idea struck him, he thought of sharing it. We have to appreciate his good will.

And I don't think that Neil was too dumb to reply to an automated message. To be frank I have 5 other websites and I do check (I don't say I read through) each and every mail I receive, including the spam box atleast once a week. And I have a catch all set for all domains, hence it doesn't matter to which address the person replies. This might be because of the very small number of spam mails I receive.
  • Fatgadget · 2 years ago
I take back what I said in my first comment, Neil definetly deserves this award
  • Darin · 2 years ago
    ha ha ha, thats awesome!
    Darin
  • mahdi yusuf · 2 years ago
holla, i just want to invite you all to join in the commentary over at my site, as well as contributing here :D
  • Israel · 2 years ago
    wtf? what are you spamming?
  • Pete Wailes · 2 years ago
That's seriously funny! Poor Neil. Seems to have gotten his knickers in a bit of a twist.

Anyway, thanks for the credit, and best of luck with the blog. You've got a fan :)
  • Lewis · 2 years ago
Perhaps I'm being stupid (I'd appreciate the award if I am ), but don't Wordpress admins still see unapproved comments? If so, then John Cow was an admin and so could have replied to an un-approved post.

Also, I had the same reaction as Neil. I presumed that if you were clever enough to set-up this site you would understand the concept of cookies.

As for replying to an automated message, you still got the email so how was that stupid? I do it all the time when I want to turn a comment in to a private conversation.

I think you're being a little harsh on him, and that you yourself deserve the award for your question in the first place
  • John Cow · 2 years ago
    A. There's no reply option for comments in the admin panel.
    B. Anyone can setup a blog, it's really not that hard.
    C. Not going to explain it again.
    D. Thanks for nominating us!
  • Neil Turner · 2 years ago
Lewis - thanks for the support lol. Anyway - what I also didn't say is that I found the post because John created a thread in a forum mainly for SEOs - which in my opinion is really wasting peoples time. Also - the thread just linked to his article - and I agree that John obviously knew the answer to this question. I should've explained this earlier. It was this fact that annoyed me as there is too much incorrect information going around regarding SEO. Also - yes you can reply to no-approved posts depending on the software you use - or maybe John decided to take the comments down - then re-approved them. Who knows. Who cares.
  • John Cow · 2 years ago
You're so full of it. Stop twisting and turning, you're losing credibility by the comment.
  • Neil Turner · 2 years ago
John, how exactly is that losing credibility? Judging by some of the comments you're receiving of late I'd say the same for you. Don't you want your readers to know that you were spamming SEO forums (designed to help users wade through the mass of dis-information) to get traffic through to your articles? I'm just pointing out that I think the initial article was a bad one. Also - my credibility certainly doesn't rest on you and your readers - some of who post quality comments like 'dumbass' - how very 'Macho'.
  • John Cow · 2 years ago
Sigh, we give up Neil. You're right, we're wrong. No point in arguing with you.

You keep making assumptions, creating a smokescreen trying to manipulate our readers opinion in your favor. We're just stating the facts Neil and anyone with half a brain can see that.

We appreciate your efforts but we feel you're giving us too much credit by doing so.

Now that's the last we have to say about it. Feel free to comment so you can have the last word.
  • Neil Turner · 2 years ago
Thanks - I will. I'd like to nominate the next stupid cow of the month award to fatgadet for visiting a post about someone apparently failing to read something properly - and then posting a comment that indicates HE failed to read my previous comments properly......I checked the site AFTER I received the email (continuously for about 5 minutes).

And finally, @John - You're right, this could go on and on. I was initially harsh - like I admitted, but I think you need to see that you were a little quick to create this post - maybe taking it a bit too personal.
  • Fatgadget · 2 years ago
    Hi Neil

Thanks for nominating me, lets hope I win
  • Joyce Babu · 2 years ago
Now people are fighting for the stupid cow award.
  • Tay · 2 years ago
Heh, I read the post and all of the comments, and through those comments Neil continues to prove his stupidity. Yes, he does deserve the Stupid Cow Award. I mean come on... How can you say the comment wasn't published when you replied to an email saying it was? Tsk tsk. Interesting post though, definitely drew me in. :)
  • Neil Turner · 2 years ago
It didn't say it was approved or anything like it. It said there was a new comment on the post. Period. Never even mentioned it was a reply to my post.
  • silvino · 2 years ago
stupid cow? but she's so sexy

maybe an official conteste in the next weeks? that would be nice
  • Fatgadget · 2 years ago
Wow ! Never mind 'Stupid Cow of the Month Award', Neil if you carry on like this your going to be in the running for the 'Stupid Cow of the year award'

Lets explain what happened because I can see clearly.

You posted your comment, when you post on a new blog for the first time it is held in the spam filter until a moderator approves it.

You obviously looked at the site again and saw your comment wasn't published, at the same time Mr Moo approved your comment and replied to it.

You then got an automated email saying there was a reply to your comment, to which you replied to.

I can see where the confusion has arisen, but if you take a step back, and think about this you may be able to see exactly what happened.

  • Dan · 2 years ago
Wow, what makes this even more amazing is that this Neil guy, after being proven that he deserves this award, continues to try to twist things around.. Neil, heres a hint, when everyone thinks you are stupid except you..Chances are you are stupid.

But I think I see past all of this. Neil is simply trying to win the stupid cow of the decade award by continuously displaying stupidity. Let's just give it to him, hes trying so hard lol.

Anyway feel free to reply Neil. I won't check this thread again. I know you like to have the last word, no matter how dumb it sounds.
