I don't know if one can find something to post on his blog after a week fully spent at home. Ok you can find some material here and there on the Internet, but when you're at home, all the time is yours and that's the problem! You are going to say "I still have all the time that is mine" and you go that way, then after a week, you didn't write a word and you can't even find where to start

My goal is to become a full time blogger but it is hard too because some family members ink you be on the computer to much I haven't made any significant income yet but I hope I can make a least a thousand dollars a month in the next six monhs

great post, its true about getting used to, or acclimated to, certain levels of income. I remember the first time I earned a five figure income in one month, seemed like a big deal then, but now its a necessity.
You keep saying WE, is there more than one blogger for John Cow? And if so, you walk around naked with him/her there?
Can you do a post on how you spend your time? Maybe break it down by; research, monetizing your site, writing, networking, etc...

Adjusting to making my own work schedule has been one of the hardest parts of going "full time". I still come up with plenty of ideas, find a lot of cool things to work on and get motived only to find I haven't planned out the actual work and productivity part lol. I don't miss a boss telling me what to do but it did make being productive a bit easier.

if all of my blogs only require writing then I am surely finished with the day's work by 5 (if i start at 9) but there so much more to blogging so for starters like me, it is still difficult to squeeze researching, writing, editing, moderating comments, designing, and promotion in 8 hours. I usually have to work longer than that. :-(

Could be good to set working hours. But unfortunately most bloggers are part time. They have other business or jobs to tend to. I think the beauty of this blogging game is the simple fact that you can add supplemental income by doing something fun. Blogging is fun guys. It's like playing a video game or chatting with strangers. Even make money bloggers should not forget that. Every day i get excited about checking google analytics to see who visted the day prior. Its fun to see the global map filled with blue.

Whats great is that you get paid. I'm a big fan of internet poker and blogging is almost as fun. Have a game plan and rake in the chips...errr....clicks.

Having a 9 to 5 allows you to have an actual life, too. If hometime is 5, then you're done at 5 and that's that. Too often I find myself "working late"--I'm still working on getting ahead with blog posts so that I don't have to write for hours on end each day (three blogs and a website with 500+ users takes a lot of scheduling.)

Weird as it might sound I use a kitchen timer to handle tasks that I hate. I figure I can do anything for half an hour, so I do half an hour of accounting, half of answering comments--anything I habitually put off. Then I can just have fun writing. One day I might get to where I'm not working seven days a week. :-P

Good job I love writing.

If blogging was only about writing it might be easy, but there's so much more: design, promotion, monetizing, researching, social networking. But it is great! Congrats on your financial success so far!

Wow Cow, it has been quite some time since you wrote a article based post here in John Cow.

I think what you should say is a 9-5 schedule with flexibility. Having a 9-5 schedule like everyone else is just the thing most full time blogger escape from.

I also noticed you always use "we" instead of "I". How many moo moos are there in the JohnCow Enterprise? :razz:

I'd agree with most of that, particularly the part about gathering blogging ammo by joining the real world. The only bit I'd take issue with is the statement that only those without blogs are normal. I'm perfectly normal and know it - The Voices tell me so ;)

wordpress post timestamp is the answer :cool: this is the best tool of wordpress. You can take one day and write your full week if you want and take the rest of the following days to think about e-mail comment social and promotion reading etc etc :cool: and if you have an express post to push you can always postpone one you already write :grin:

Why force yourself to get up early? Write an entry the night before and set it to publish early the next day. That's what I do.

That's true...even for me...I am hard at managing time for my blog. Though I am not a full time blogger, but still time factor is crucial for any blog.
