I started blogging two months ago and I hear about blogrush. They were the first network I join. The experience was very good. It a little disappointing that they shutdown. Moving on to the next one.

You have to admire John Reese for being man enough to decide it's time to call a halt to Blogrush. I don't doubt that we all have failures we could share and not everyone would be comfortable doing so publicly. He deserves respect not only for doing so, but for the good intentions behind the project.

I would go as far to say that failures are the only way we really learn. When we are down in the valley, that's where most of the learning takes place. That learning in the valley is what makes you rise up to the top of the mountain. At the top of the mountain, very little learning takes places. Small businesses start out in the valley. If they are successful they rise up to the mountain top. Once at the mountain top, they become stagnant within the corporate culture.

John's most valuable asset was not BlogRush or any other business venture. His most valuable asset is time for time is the stuff life is made of. Admitting failure and letting something go as fast as possible is the key to success. Cutting your losers short and letting your winners ride is something all of us need to be doing on a regular basis. The worst thing you can do is to waste your valuable time trying to make a market where there is none.

I installed Blogrush in the beginning too. But removed it after a month.

I always thought that the links didn't have enough characters in and so people didn't know what they were clicking on and so wouldn't click. A ticker style widget would have been better imo. Everyone placed the widget way to far down the page too.

If I had an offer for a failing idea I would have sold it :lol: .

You know, there could be an info product in the failure. I recall a text I had to purchase for a college marketing course that was composed of several short case studies whose central theme was business failure.

I see some similarities between Entrecard and BlogRush. Both wanted to help their users before monetizing it. Too bad BlogRush didn't reach the monetizing stage :(

Blogrush is dead for a long time, just like Entrecard was a waste of precious time. I don`t see the widget on that many sites anymore..Not something to worry about.
