John Cow dot COM: Boycotting For Dummies

  • Enkay Blog · 2 years ago
I wonder how much JC will make this month.
  • Steven · 2 years ago
I am more curious to see how much he'll pump out for the month of september since that will he the first full month he has the new design and everything charged for. Not to mention probably a new price plan for the 250x300 ad spot. Supposely google adsense will click rates will go back up and although he is considering removing them from his site to sell those ad spots directly, for the time being I think he'll still run them. I am sure he'll beat the 13k mark.
  • Julie · 2 years ago
Um, yeah, this won't go anywhere.

He says, "Blogging should be about writing something you're passionate about and not to see if you're able to outperform last month's revenue."

If you want to make good money from your blog, you either write about something you are passionate about and the money will follow OR you set yourself apart from the crowd. John has set himself apart from the crowd.

Blogging is not just about writing something your are passionate about. I mean geez, here's how wikipedia defines it,

"Blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject such as food, politics, or local news; some function as more personal online diaries."

A person's blog is theirs to do whatever the heck they want to do with it. If John Chow wants to see how much money he can make with his, I say go for it!

Besides Mr. Boycotter, no one said you HAVE to go read it. Go somewhere else.

I find it funny that by boycotting John Chow, he's just going to bring more attention to Mr. Chow. There's no such thing as bad press people.
  • Steven · 2 years ago
John Chow has already announced that he is considering removing all adsense ads from his site and selling the ad spots directly. This kinda ruins Mr. Boycotter's theory of people clicking on his ads for long.

Boycotting won't help, what you need to do is outsmart the man at his own game.

I agree with the bad press point, I think that draws more attention, that's why linkbait is so successful when executed correctly.
  • Word Hugger · 2 years ago
the only problem is I don't think you can linkbait johnchow to talk about you smashing him. lol
  • Boycott John Chow · 2 years ago
Thanks for the personal blog entry. I really appreciate it!
  • Matt Jones · 2 years ago
This is never going to go anywhere. Wanting to boycott it just makes it forbidden which makes JC all the more desierable.
  • Ryan Shamus · 2 years ago
    I bet its Chow's new blog :)

Would be a great way to build buzz. I win a prize if I'm right!
  • Sabrina's Money Matters · 2 years ago
And boy would that ever be evil! I think you might be onto something there :)
  • Debo Hobo · 2 years ago
I think you are right. The Cow and Chow seem to be thick as thieves these days and they are more than likely in on this MrBoycotter together as well. After that whole linkbait scam they pulled off a few weeks ago ( help they shut me down blah blah blah) can we really trust these two anymore for anything other than great ideas.

It sounds very evil to me!
  • BigPappa · 2 years ago
Looks like the blog has completely changed. It is not the Boycott Blog anymore. I Wonder what happened?
  • Steven · 2 years ago
Check this out... the Google Fight of the century... in one corner we have the Big Beef himself Jooooohhhn Chow, in the other corner we have a new contender to ring (aka blogosphere), the milk machine himself... Jooooohn Cow... Who will win? See for yourself =]

My boycotter has changed his post. Looks like boycottjohnchow.blogspot.com was setup as linkbait.

    Brilliant move actually.
  • Steven · 2 years ago
LMAO it's not brilliant at all. I didn't even bother clicking on his site. Most people wouldn't even care to read stuff like that. Why in the hell would that be brilliant at all.
  • Jeff · 2 years ago
Looks like he tried to get some digg hits, looks like it didn't work, check it out, right now its at 1 digg.
  • Jeff · 2 years ago

  • Kyle M Stephens · 2 years ago

  • Israel · 2 years ago
he is just trying to generate a buzz for his chow hate site to then parlay it into his own money making blog. i guess its sorta working.
  • Julie · 2 years ago
Nah, we will have all forgotten about him by then. :)
  • Israel · 2 years ago
    yes lets hope so. lol.
