John Cow dot COM: Google Still Chewing On The Chow?

  • Steven · 2 years ago
I'd say at least a PR4 for you cows
  • Making The Money · 2 years ago
I've got you predicted at a strong 5, possibly a 6 depending on which preview tool you use. The same tool that had John Chow at a 5 also had you at a 6 so you might be in for a nice surprise!
  • 2xKnight · 2 years ago
I'd be happy with just about anything. I don't have any page rank. *L*
  • Lori · 2 years ago
I agree with number 2...a 5 for sure, possibly a 6. Hec, even my Cowboy's Wife blog was predicted a strong 4 possible 5:)
  • Fatgadget · 2 years ago
You will get a 6 Mr Moo  , I am also hoping for a 6 but may get a 5
  • Rea Maor · 2 years ago
i would say that due to Google's latest changes you'll rank lower then you expect,
if i have to guess i'll say PR 4.
  • krillz · 2 years ago
well google is pretty much redoing the pagerank thingy I think, they seem to not like paid links, so your site won't get any better treatment than chow.

They might introduce a new negative rank, pumping you down to -1.
Or you can get the 5-6, hopefully you'll get the latter.
  • krillz · 2 years ago
but the funny thing with john chow's blog was, I did a pagerank prediction on the tools out on the net, and it said 5, I thought the system was shitty as he already had 6. But hey I guess they work after all, so I should be getting a nice 4.
  • Israel · 2 years ago
    4 at least.
  • krillz · 2 years ago
that is if the google performs any web wide update, they might just be punishing all the sites they do not like, and do not update all.
  • Fatgadget · 2 years ago
I have been checking a few blogs over the last few weeks using the iwebtool and John chows was showing a predicted 5, whilst the cows had been showing a predicted 6.

Why is John Chow the only blog to get updated?
  • Cash Quests · 2 years ago
Just like Bobmeetsworld.com: A 1 for the homepage and all the inner pages get a 5.
  • browie · 2 years ago
How does he go down in PR and supposedly the PR hasn't been updated. Very interesting, I think i'm going to have to do some research.
  • WarrioBlog · 2 years ago
Not even a PR1....yet but by the end of this year maybe a PR3

It would be hilarious if the Cow got a higher rank than the Chow.
  • Mr. Rajawang · 2 years ago
I guess the cow will only get a 4. :)
  • Fatgadget · 2 years ago
There is definetly an update going on, and I don't think John Chow has been penalised, I think google have changed the pagerank system.

I have just checked another blog which I knew was a 6 and it has now changed to a 5.

knowing my luck I will get a -1
  • Abdalla · 2 years ago
Damn thats gotta hurt! I'd be happy with a PR of 3
  • Make Money Investing · 2 years ago
most probably PR5 for the cow ... but it would be fun to see cow get a 6, higher than johnchow himself ...

    cheers
  • Wayne Liew · 2 years ago
John Cow deserves a 5 at least but it would be better if it is a 6. No doubt.
  • Joyce Babu · 2 years ago
    @browie
Google might have started the PR Update
  • Fatgadget · 2 years ago
    @ Joyce

They have started it  , I have seen quite a few tech sites change, for example Engadget was at 7 yesterday they are now showing an 8.

Lets hope they update the rest of us lowly bloggers soon
  • KingJacob · 2 years ago
If this is true and google in fact did lower his pr than that is kinda good news for the rest of us because it could mean that they still plan on using pr.
  • Jason · 2 years ago
it would hurt John Chow more or less, actually his PR should be lower than 5 as he don't even rank for his own name.

If Google indeed manually update his pr, that should be 3 or 2
  • Culture Shiok! Singapore · 2 years ago
    I want PR5!

I like that "Milking the internet" thing!
  • Michael · 2 years ago
But John is slapping Google too. He got rid of Adsense and proved that he earned more. But I guess it is worse when a search engine slaps him. Ouch! :!:
  • Eric · 2 years ago
Google has reached its peak and it is only a matter of years until a superior alternative appears on the scene - it may take a while to eclipse Google, but it will happen.
  • Teejay · 2 years ago
At least it doesn't look like it created a dent in his September earnings.
  • Indra Diky · 2 years ago
I'm waiting for Google Prage Rank update. I hope it'll going up
