It is obvious that LPlak does NOT understand the meaning of this biz, and he obviously has not perused your blog enough to know what valuable content is.
Dear LPlak,
Do you really think that John is not allowed to write a post that will make him some money? Do you think he is just here to spend his time and effort to constantly provide valuable content without any kind of payoff for him? This IS a Blogging BUSINESS!!!! Also, just so you know, this is the 15th post I have seen selling Blog Mastermind and as many or more incentives, however John's is giving the most and the grandest incentives thus far!

We all know what spam means. And for those who misuse the term in these above posts...there's nothing we can do, "udder" than roll our eyes and keep on truckin'.

I think earlier we got used to get information and good ideas on your blog in your own words - not only "value" but valueable content. Now with this very last post I also had the impression that it is simply an affiliate sales page, nothing more. In the last couple of weeks I was working for a client setting up an affiliate site and blog, so I had to visit tens and tens of affiliate sites, sales pages, OTO pages etc. Reading this latest post I had the feeling I am visiting one of those sites, not the clever, insightful blog of JC. Sorry.
Now let me make it clear: there is nothing wrong in a sales page, per se. Internet affiliate marketing and all the tricks and sales pitches, the rethorics etc. are here to stay - it is a big business, I understand that. For those who do it well, seemingly, it works.
However, you have treated your readers and subscribers differently till now and, I assume, this sudden "turn" into pure salesmanship from blogger... might annoy some of your readers. Some will unsubscribe and they will even criticize you. Get used to it. And there is nobody else that you can blame: you have built an image of this blog and yourself - and now it seems you are going to deconstruct that.
Actually, that was exactly the reason I was afraid to turn my blog suddenly into a serial sales page.
I hope you don't call everybody a "smart ass" just because posting an honest opinion.
moshus last blog post..Biggest number of internet users in China
Do not think for one minute that this blog is not about making money and i will promote products that I believe in and think will benefit you. Actually is this not a make money online blog???
As for saying pure salemanship and treating different.... please explain something to me...
1. Did you listen to the interview?
2. If you did, was it not valuable information?
3. If you were thinking of getting blogging mastermind, is this a good deal?
Pure salesmanship would mean that i say buy now, buy now and offer you nothing of value for free. I knew there would be those that did not want or could not afford so i thought it would be nice to atleast get them an interview.
I have offered value to those who do not want the course and value to those that do. I have no problem with people not liking the reality that this is a business about making money but what i do not like is misused words like "SPAM". I appreciate honest opinions but learn what spam is if you are going to use that word because I do not spam people.
Oh and the comment...
"and now it seems you are going to deconstruct that."
...I think that is a little overboard there fella. 2 promotions in four months.. think you better settle down there big guy. If i was doing these everyday but come on now, lets calm down with the over reaction there big guy. Love the advice of "better get used to" and all that too.
OK I got to add one more thing. Remember part of blogging is to get into discussions and allow people to talk and share... this is not one sided and what that means is you can vent in comments and I can vent in comments. It is all one bug happy thing. Often times the people leaving the comment think that they are allowed to say what ever they want and if the author responds, it is "unprofessional". Well, if i feel that someone is being a smart ass... yup i am going to tell them... so get used to it
And I never used the word "spam" in my comment. Because I don't think there was any spam - just an unusual post.
P.S. No, I didn't listen to the interview: I am from the older generation that can read (very fast) and comprehends it. No need for audio-visual "crutches" to grasp an idea. Plus, I don't hear well.
Congrats Cow, you have just turn your comment area into a fighting place...
This is what i looking for, a very HOT comment...
This will burst your stats - hope soooo.....

If I can perhaps then take an impartial overview of the discussion I think the problem that has occurred is the inclusion of the audio clips withinin the post. If you had transcribed the audio and posted it as text within the post, how much great content would that look like?
It would be pages and pages long. I am sure you would be getting lots of comments now saying that the post was great and was full of really good, useful information about blogging online.
Then, the addition of the affiliate link would have been seen as fair play, as it would have looked like just a small part of the post, most readers would not have questioned it.
Because all that great free content is 'hidden' under the audio link I think some readers have seen the post as purely a sales pitch and as such a departure from your usual informative packed posts.Of course they are wrong, there is just as much useful info in the post as ever, if not more.
However, when I first read the post it did look a little blunt. Half way down it seems to suddenly mention Blogging Mastermind from nowhere. I think this is because, like I did, most people will read the whole post before listening to the audio, so it then feels a little like you are reading a sales plug and nothing else. I think maybe that's why there have been a few negative comments about the post.
Just my thoughts!
Personally I think the audio is great, I think Yaro is very good and I subscribe to his excellent blog. Whilst I can't purchase Yaro's product right now and yes I have been hit with many affiliate links for it in my inbox too, that's par for the course. People have got to earn a living!! That's the game we're in!!
But look at the bigger picture. The trend of Internet Marketing today is to give out loads of fantastic, free content before and in between the sales pitches. As readers and students of IM we've never had it so good!! And with that in mind, for me this is one of my must read blogs. Good work Mr Cow!

1. Start a blog about how to make money online.
2. Tell people how to do something pretty simple like niche keyword research
(make sure your example is golf, dog training or credit cards)
3. Make money by sending people via an affiliate link to another blog/site/course about how to make money online.
4. Go to step 2.
Think i offer a little bit better then that ;)
Thanks for showing us how to turn content and a great blog into a cash earning blog. How could we know your system works if you didn't show us right?
lets see now, keywords, show me the money
great content
great link bait examples
start converting your efforts. (guess you were telling us the truth about some complaining, but I appreciate the examples)
I am a gota see it type guy, so keep up the good work, I will keep my feet planted here and learn.
I need to start adopting the art of affiliate posts, relying solely on adsense is becoming a tad tiresome. $1/day whoopee.
However... It's a fine line between offering your readers quality information and also pushing/promoting affiliate links. Just make sure you don't saturate your readers with too much product promos.

First, I have gotten some great info via this and some of the other channels you have. Thanks for that.
Not saying you didn't do this, just some thoughts I see as good ideas:
An affiliate disclosure page, on the about or as a separate page.
Information about the nature of the subscription; before opt-in, or during the opt-in process-- like in the 2x opt-in e-mail or at the subscribed page.
Once launched, I have even considered creating a quick- load graphic for html newsletters or blog posts that further identifies post nature or a section:
loose examples only but
like editorial, promotional, informational etc. Over-kill? I duh know....
Again thanks for some great content, some over-the-top bonus offers and some pretty cool and robust contests!
Otherwise, both your post and Yaro's post recommending that one comes here are worth the effort. It has been more interesting here because of the heat generated here.

SPAM is just a meat derivative anyway.
However, since You are mastering the blog, It's a really MMO blog. So, if some don't understand that in a MMo blog they teach to make money and try to make it the same time they are missing the picture.
How do they believe that their teacher will make money with is blog ? Only with adsense ? Not every one who is Shoemoney with his big check.
You're doing a very goooooooooooooooooooooood job. Truly, you're my N°1 MMO teacher, before all the crowd.

I am willing to put the work in .... and slog from site 1 to 100 etc.
I'm almost sold on Yaro ... but am unsure how he would help me further my 'blog empire' with his course .....
I would willingly pay the full amount to have instant access but .... I need more convincing.
I have the hosting, I have the adsense ready WP themes .... I even have some dormant domain names .... the selecting of niches and the writing/sourcing of content and the monetising (other than adsense) overwhelms me.
Information overload comes to mind ..... I would gladly pay to be guided on a direct route to earning money online.
Can Yaro help me? My impression (having watched his 25 min video) is that it's a focus on a single blog ..... and all effort goes into that.
Does Yaro focus on niche selection? Use of keywords? etc.
I'm in Ireland .... if I focus on Ireland do I cut my revenue prospects immediately?
Cow .... sort me out once and for all .... I reckon twud be worth the price of a pint of Guinness!
Paddy Bloggits last blog post..Psalm 23 - The Computer Version!
I'm a graduate of Yaro's course. He focuses on building one authority site.
He does cover stuff about identifying niches, keywords etc.
You could apply these to building lots of smaller blogs. But this isn't his main focus. You might also like to check out Caroline Middlebrook.
Perhaps the development of a single 'authority' site would be a better way to focus my energies.
I read Caroline's blog daily ... she is indeed an inspiration.
Yaro seems like he knows what he's talking about ..... I reckon that €497 will be leaving my grasped fingers shortly.
Cow ... any further thoughts?
Garry's strategy is a good one but personally not one that I follow much anymore, the chances that all will make 30$ is not really realistic but they may average that much. So if that is the case why spend time on the ones that bring the average down... instead remove those and focus on the ones that bring in more. By focusing on those you will increase the revenue they generate dramatically.
If you get Yaro's course, I know you will love it and if you do not well there is a 100% refund policy so get it, check it out and if it is not what you thought then you can refund so there really is no risk.
You are totally out of line and never has anything even close to what you said been true or stated anywhere in anything. Have you ever downloaded the ebook, looked at Yaro's course or anyting like that??? If you did you would see it is pure quality.
Go be negative someone else, you are not offering anything even remotely true and are the type of person that with that type of attitude will never be successful.
Offer value, be a resource and build a business... that is all I ever teach.
I am a regular reader of John Cow, I have followed the Cowpetition with interest, I have discovered Garry Conn and Caroline Middlebrook and I am quite happy to accept the credentials of all (including Yaro) ....
I will be signing up for Yaro's course tomorrow ....
My confidence in earning a reasonable living from the internet has been boosted by John Cow and his equals. Thanks Cow!
One criticism ..... your posts can get very technical at times ... not great for a guy who's not naturally a techie .... I learn the hard way .... repetition ... repetition and more repetition.
The whole notion of adsense alternatives, affiliates etc. drives me into information overload shock. Each time I read a new blog post it seems that new affiliates have been born .... these days every Tom, Dick and Mary seems to be lauding the plaudits of Performance Ads ... ??!!?**
Your new motto .... 'Slow down John Cow!'
Paddy Bloggits last blog post..A change of direction
It's all comes down to this, when you've done your due diligence and have found an opportunity that you think you're confident about, your next step would be to ask yourself that how serious are you with it.
I hope you got something from the interview between me and Jason too - there's some good ideas in the call and it only costs you your time to listen.
Jason - it's impressive that you take the time to respond to people who leave "troll" comments - that shows how dedicated you are to this blog. Other people would just delete those types of comments or at least ignore them.
Yaros last blog post..John Cow and Yaro Starak Talk Blogging
I don't know man...I don't see how people can call this spam, or get upset. People always want free stuff man I guess. I don't see anything wrong with it, Yaro has a great course and I believe in it fully as well.
Would someone prefer that you cleverly "hide" the affiliate promotion? I'm a believe in being upfront. So your approach is a good one.
Keep up the good work Cow.

Thats all the guy does is provide information(most of it for free). And if he posts something that costs some money, thats fine cause after all , this is a business, and what do we do when we are in business? We sell something that will make money, so we can feed our families, so back off.Not everything on the net is for free. And ya all act like your entitled to getting everything for free in your life. Give me a break. No body owes you a thing in life. Not your mom, not your dad, not the government, not your next door neighbor, not your boss, no one owes you anything . So what you do get from John for free, you better learn to appreciate it .
