John Cow dot COM: Landing Pages C(r)ash Course

That sure is a great example on cash quests.

Another tip is to analyse what posts are ranking higher on the SERPS and either amend them to be more of a landing page, or have a link to your landing page. Use this funnel to get your readers to your sales page.

I also like that on cash quests that all the images on that page go to her affiliate link.

i have to control myself a lot for my blog to be on techie niche, not to go to make money online, the topic that most people read

Haha! Have you been clicking your own ads Mr Cow?? How else would you find that page?? :)

You hit the nail on the head with the "Whatever post is in the top spot on that day" line. There's no point running a promotion without wanting that traffic to take a specific action.

And how cool are you!! Writing a post that links to my landing page!! I guess I owe you some milk!
  • John Cow · 2 years ago
No, some other John told us where the links you bought on his page went to.

This gives me a few ideas for one of my blogs. Thanks alot!

Heh, I came to the same conclusion a few weeks ago about the need to have a landing page for 1st time readers. Cash Quests, also, was the inspiration for this idea. I haven't been able to sit down and make the actual page yet, but I did come up with a problem. If I start focusing my promotional links towards this landing page instead of my home page, wouldn't that take away from my home page's rankings?

This is why I'm not fond of those that say "make money online" but really don't tell you how every post. IDK if you're an expert in a field you should have it devoted to that not random pictures of what you ate that night.

    Hey Mr Moo

Cool post, I think I may have to try some of these ideas out.
  • Colin Klinkert · 2 years ago

"Make Money With Joh Chow". I'm really annoyed I even clicked on that.
  • KingJacob · 2 years ago
This is especially important to consider when reworking your popular old posts that are still getting search engine traffic, so you can make them convert in terms of money or readers.

Link my referral code to all pictures!!!!! Thanks John, that is an incredible idea I just cannot believe I didn't think of already. I've been blooging 6 months so I guess that could be the reason:)

    A well informed post. Thanks

Great tip, since those people will leave your site if they do not find the info they want fast.

  • Michael Fultz · 2 years ago
Those are some good tips. This is something I'll have to work on..
  • Josh Spaulding · 2 years ago
You have some very good points, but one I disagree with.

This way you provide enough opportunities to reel a new referral in without having to butcher your landing page with all sorts of text links like “Join Now!” and “Sign up here!”. Those usually put most people off since nobody likes to be told what to do.

Phrases like "Join Now" and "sign up here" (call to action) are actually very effective if implemented correctly.

Actually, people DO like being told what to do. They want to know exactly what the next step is.
