Thanks for warning us about this con man! It is people like this pulling stunts like that which make it hard for us honest people to make a real living. If you sell a link, it should be exactly as stated for the price promised.

Angel: I belive that's called Bullemia.

Have you seen his blog, he says that the DP Mods suck (atdinner dot com).

Whilst I do agree they aren't the best,

Guess you shouldn't buy anything off Digital Point. That place is a joke.

Amusing, but with all due respect, this is not productive blogging. I think netguru has had his fair share of humiliation. You need to back off before he turns and sues you for defamation (which you are currently on the brink of).

Just thought you might like to know the legal issues behind this, it would be wise to just forgive and forget

The fact the seller on ebay is the same one who tried to say on the original "Free PR 9 links" that the seller did say all the info on DP just goes to show what a real scamming conman this guy really is.

I'm sure he must have easily cashed in over $1000 or more in the past week or so, selling information that he knows to be complete crap.

Saying you shouldn't buy anything from DP is one thing, but what this guy is doing is completely and blantantly ripping people off.

Scum like this should be banned frmo the net all together.

He's also trying to sell freely available information on how to watch live sports events online for a bargain "one-off" payment. If you want that sort of info then www.football4less.com and www.live-internet-football.com is all you need.

Right okay because ive been named and shamed, i thought it best to reply here with the basic truth of the matter. I bought this link myself through topseo on digital point and did sell the link on believing it to be a pr9 this is true. After I sold some on sitepoint (please note that I only sold on sitepoint and it was only twice or 3 times at most, I am NOT related to anyone selling on ebay at current or on apple forums and you can check that out if you will. I am not dogtrainingguides on DP, though yes I admit I am NETGURU on dp).

When someone on the sitepoint thread mentioned that it wasnt a pr9 and not as promised I did shut the thread down but I didn't (and still don't) see why I should have to refund people when they read the description and the description was true as far as I saw as I myself had paid for the link!!!!

I ain't a bad person and I ain't a scammer. I did panic yes but out of principal didn't refund as if you see something and the description does match what ur selling then refunds don't seem logical. I'm not a massive SEO expert and i dunno what the heck a https thingy is? I only found out a small time ago.

Because this is causing me a lot of stress and some people can easily know where I live now (would a real scammer use his real name and real address in his paypal????) I am offering anyone who bought this off me on sitepoint a refund. I repeat I am NOT a scammer.

Whoever sent the following email makes me sick:
"We'll find you scammer and when we do we'll burn you and your family and you can rot in hell where you belong" .Now from someone who may have purchased this link off me I may understand but not from someone who read this blog?

Also being shamed about my poker addiction, sexuality and other things I've received is proving too much for me and as for Abdallah's comments about all scots being scammers, that's a bit pathetic. No wonder the rest of the world thinks the brits are ignorant. My family's English anyway.... and Syed I have never sold this link on DP. You may not believe me as I've double backed on a few things I've said yes but just go back on and check out who sold you it. Guaranteed to be either topseo or dogtrainingguides who I bought from and its them who are still peddling it, not me.

    Regards

Storm in a teacup really. You did make things worse for yourself by posting under your own name and commenting on how you thought your own link was a scam. But still, whoever sent a death threat probably needs to sit down and drink a cola or something. Just pay everyone back and stop dwelling on it. And don't come up with anymore harebrain schemes.

Yeah I know and if I'm honest I don't think its a scam as I've seen some of my serps improve plus there is PR in those threads and I was selling it more on the merit of being a .edu link rather than a pr9. That said yes this blog did shoot shivers down me which I guess goes to show that good journalism does work. You think I'd know that having a degree in the damn subject :-) If I was a real scammer however I wouldn't have even posted here but I amn't and didn't mean any real harm in the whole thing. If anyone wants a refund they can get it. There's only 3-4 people i've sold to so its not going to break my bank. Sent a PM to John but not heard back yet. I don't believe it'll be long though before this link shows up again as, like i said before, I'm not peddling this anymore though there are more every day who are.

Good thing you have a popular forum to call out people like this
  • Kyle · 1 year ago
Without meaning to sound rude, Cow...are you so stupid that you keep getting spammed?

A lot of posts on this website are "This guy scammed us!" or "We didn't get sent this prize!" expecting people to go "Wow, thanks for outing them, Cow! You sure are clever, Cow!"...but I don't see it.

What I see are a couple of webmasters falling for the same scams over and over. Yes, it's nice that you point out those scammers so we don't fall for the same traps, so an honest 'thanks' for that, but smarten up a little, eh? So you don't keep falling for them yourselves.
  • Kyle · 1 year ago
    *keep getting scammed?
  • John Cow · 1 year ago
Kyle, please do list all those posts you are so worried about.
  • Kyle · 1 year ago
...I'm not worried? When did I say that?

I think you need to read through stuff a lot more, including the small print and also the track record of companies/blogs/websites that you deal with.

Didn't you complain about not winning an iPhone or iPod Touch once? What if you had checked out the past history of that blog's contests? Then you wouldn't have wasted your time entering it in the first place.

And now this. If you had researched the seller even a tiny little bit more (ie - what you did AFTER you were scammed), you wouldn't have got scammed in the first place.

Instead, you throw your time and money away, making a big mistake, and then backtrack to make you seem like you knew something was amiss the whole time, making yourself out to be a saviour and not just another poor sap who fell for a scam.

I'm not saying that posting those mistakes on the blog to warn others of the same scams isn't a good idea, but for your own bank balance's sake, just be more careful in the future.

It was only $50 this time, but who knows when you'll fall for a $50,000 scam at the rate you are going? Wise up and do the research before you make the potential mistake, not after just blindly going for it.

Link sales is a niche full of scammers. I simply avoid them nowadays after being burned once.
