John Cow dot COM: The Numbers For August Are In!

  • browie · 2 years ago
Great job. Man, 2,000 visitors/day that's awesome. I wish I could get 1,000 ad impressions a month in two of my sites. GOOD JOB COWS
  • browie · 2 years ago
Sorry, I also wanted to mention I got my first $100 adsense today. Sounds like (cow alone, you got over 100 finally) I know you have other sites.
  • John Cow · 2 years ago
Excellent! $100 is some nice milkmoney
  • Steven · 2 years ago
It is indeed. Thanks again for the shout out Mr. Cow. I really appreciate it. Just let me know if you need help on something.
  • Sly from Slyvisions.com · 2 years ago
Congratulations! I just can't wait until my numbers are similar to that (or better) :)
  • Steven · 2 years ago
    LOL me too...
  • Jeff · 2 years ago
    Same here too :)
  • Steven · 2 years ago
I'll just have to work hard on it. Unfortunately my blog is the lesser of my online income. But we'll see how it develops.
  • KingJacob · 2 years ago
Its kinda funny but sad that johncow ranks better for john chow than johnchow.com does, Also congrats those are amazing stats for a few month old blog though you should be making way more than you are with them and hopefully the new theme helps out.

P.S. the whole using commas instea of periods in numbers is a bit wierd.
  • Jeff · 2 years ago
His new theme will really help since he will be able to sell ad spots and keep the money instead of getting half or less through an ad company.
  • Steven · 2 years ago
I think it's great this blog is doing so well for being a new blog. I can't wait to see the new theme on here.
  • KingJacob · 2 years ago
I agree a new theme will probally double or triple this blogs income.
  • Sly from Slyvisions.com · 2 years ago
After John Chow, ProBlogger, Slyvisions (my site) and a few other blogs redesigned their site, it's as if the rest of the blogosphere did too. It's nice to see the new looks though!
  • Steven · 2 years ago
I think its should be a common to do every couple years or at least until you find a theme you like. I've changed my theme around 4-5 times within the last 6 months and am still tweaking other ones behind the scene as we speak. Not everyone is changing their theme only because John Chow and Problogger recently did. I think having a new theme or tweaking the layout of a current theme gives the readers a refreshing feel when they visit their favorite blogs
  • fatgadget · 2 years ago
Well done Mr Moo, very impressive.

Your pages views compared to the amount of visitors is amazing, this is something I am working on increasing on my site, lets hope our new template helps with that (if we ever get it finished).

Keep up the good work :)
  • Steven · 2 years ago
I am mainly working to increase number of unique visitors but the sheer volume of pageviews alone is indeed crazy.
  • Jeff · 2 years ago
Congratz guys! and Good luck with this month.
  • Jeff · 2 years ago
Also does Vibrant pay better than Kontera or did you just like Vibrants ads better?
  • Steven · 2 years ago
I am interested in know this as well as I only use Kontera on my site right now.
  • fatgadget · 2 years ago
    Wow !

I was just reading the Big Beef's blog, and guess what Mad Cows, you beat him on pageviews this month.

    From his blog

'Blog traffic in August was 337,852 page views from 170,465 visitors. A nice increase from the 319,165 page views posted the month before.'

That is pretty damn impressive :)
  • Steven · 2 years ago
That is a lot of pageviews... nearly 500k
  • Truden · 2 years ago
I had that stats two years ago with Truden Web Site, but even now I can not make a cent with it.
In Bulgaria to make money online you need ten times more than you show here, Cow.

    Lucky English speaking cows :D
  • Ryan Shamus · 2 years ago
    Congrats milkman!

Very impressive for two months of operation. You're definitely on an ass-kicking quest!
  • Sly from Slyvisions.com · 2 years ago
Exactly shows you what cows are capable of!
  • Steven · 2 years ago
It sure does, and I hope there is more to come. This site has gone a long ways from just being another parody blog.
  • GnomeyNewt · 2 years ago
Great job last month! Pageviews are very impressive. That is what I've been trying to increase this past month.

I still miss BobMeetsWorld, we need more funny jokes going on around here besides cow ones. Congrats to Steven too!
  • Steven · 2 years ago
Thanks for the congrats. I prefer to increase number of unique visitors than pageviews and retain those same visitors. Pageviews will come along with the loyal readers.
  • GnomeyNewt · 2 years ago
If I can keep those few visitors I get, the better is how I see it. That way I don't have to keep trying to get new visitors to like my site if the ones that have already come stay! What do you think?
  • Steven · 2 years ago
I think its best to always try and increase the number of visitors you get, not just avoid getting new visitors to like your site and have ones that already come to stay. You should always try to increase new visitors, retain, and continue to increase from there; rinse, wash, and repeat
  • Alex · 2 years ago
This shows how easy making money online is even cows can do it
  • Wayne Liew · 2 years ago
Gosh, I am not even a cow. :-P
  • Sly from Slyvisions.com · 2 years ago
Haha. Speaking of cows being able to make money online, I have to give you props on that "John" (Bob). It was a really nice idea that could have never been though of by me. And by looking at your income on August, it surely has to be the best thing you have ever done right?
  • Steven · 2 years ago
It was definitely worth his $80 investment =]
  • Steven · 2 years ago
    @Alex

I wouldn't necessarily say it's easy. It may be easy compare to a lot of other methods of generating income in the world but it can also be difficult in many ways. And just so we're clear, making $2.00 off adsense don't really count as making money online LOL, however it is a start.
  • Word Hugger · 2 years ago
Is this profit after expenses, or total revenue?
  • Mr. Rajawang · 2 years ago
That is not a bad numbers for the cow family..I only generate around $400 a month and i am stuck to it for 3 months already.. :(
  • Making The Money · 2 years ago
When your income flattens out like that it's time to think about change. How to get more visitors, how to extract more money from your existing visitors?

When my sites have leveled of it's normally because my effort with them has as well :)
  • Steven · 2 years ago
3 months for that kind of progress isn't bad. Or do you mean it took you long to generate that kind of income but for 3 months you haven't been able to increase it?
  • Sly from Slyvisions.com · 2 years ago
Haha. You're not the only one.
  • Sly from Slyvisions.com · 2 years ago
Ooops. I meant to say this to "250$ Contest" down below.
  • Mr. Rajawang · 2 years ago
$400 a month since july...maybe i need to tried reviewme or payperpost..
  • 250$ Contest · 2 years ago
    Damn i'm jealous!
  • Joyce Babu · 2 years ago
Congrats! Steven. Your hard work finally paid out :)
  • Steven · 2 years ago
LOL. I just like commenting, I didn't really expect anything of it. I am actually top commentor for about 5 blogs.
  • Angel · 2 years ago
You could buy a new bike now.
  • Michael Lankton · 2 years ago
Fantastic numbers. You have to be pretty pleased with how the site is doing. Congrats
  • NSpeaks · 2 years ago
Congrats Steven and John. Great job! Well seems everybody going for redesign. Maybe by next week, I would also get a new theme for my blog!
  • Steven · 2 years ago
    Thanks
  • Cash Quests · 2 years ago
Well Mr Cow, that is udderly fantastic! Well done! Good to see that you're milking this site for all that it's worth! :)
  • Sutocu · 2 years ago
Nice stats! Well done and good luck for next month.
  • Forest Parks · 2 years ago
I can only dream of these numbers! But I'll keep trying and hopefully keep having fun at it.

    I made 99cents this week though :)
  • Steven · 2 years ago
We all hope to make tremendous results but it all takes time.
  • Chris Jacobson · 2 years ago
    Impressive stats there guys!
  • fatgadget · 2 years ago
    Hey Mr Moo

Have you checked your predicted page rank lately, I was just checking mine and I checked yours it looks like the Clever Cows may get a page rank of 6 :)

    That is pretty impressive
  • John Cow · 2 years ago
    Where'd you see that?
  • fatgadget · 2 years ago
  • Justin Tsan · 2 years ago
I thought that's a clever ( or maybe a bit devilish, ;-)) way to get people's attention, none-the-less very effective! I must admit being very jealous, well I guess envious more likely, that you can have such volume of traffic. I guess I will like to learn a thing of two from you guys. So subscribe me yeh!!!!

Even with your traffic, earnings from Adsense is only 60+ per month. I think I need to rethink my Adsense strategy. :(

Definitely not doing your 16G of page views.
  • Michael Fultz · 2 years ago
For all that traffic, the adsense stats are depressing.. but, it looks like you are on your way to the promised land.. or.. pasture!
  • Internet Babel · 2 years ago
Nice job after 2 months. Love this design also, I'm a new reader here, nice monetization.
  • Indra Diky · 2 years ago
    GREAT JOB!
  • ajacx · 2 years ago
